To start of this month’s report I would like to say a big well done to Olivier Elliott of the infant class, and Arton Nazarkov from the junior class on becoming this month’s student of the month. Both students work really well and I am very proud of them. Keep up the good work!
This month, both classes have been getting excited (and a little nervous) about the upcoming gradings. The infant class have been learning a lot of stand-up grappling and different take downs, with the high belts in the class also going over the basic moves to show that they have not forgotten them.
The gradings took place in the middle of this month and what a fantastic day it was with all the students putting 100% in to it. The day started off with a line up and basic warm up, then straight in to breakfalls with everyone also stating the technique in Japanese and English. With all of that out of the way, we moved on to the throws before finishing the grading with the history of Ishin Ryu and asking questions about Ju Jitsu. I am so proud of this infant class they have worked so hard this year and it shows in an outstanding grading.
The junior class have been looking forward to their final grading of the year, and have been working hard on their throws and arm locks. On the day the whole class worked so well together that I could not have asked for a better, with some amazing arm locks and outstanding demonstrations of fighting spirit. Everyone passed with flying colours, and I am so proud of this Bushey class which has only been open for just over one year. The students are outstanding and the support from the mums and dads is brilliant. Well done everyone.
Now that the grading’s for both classes are out of the way and everyone happy with their new belts, we are going to be learning some new escapes from a bear hug and also how to escape from holds on the floor. Both classes are super excited to learn some new moves and also looking forward to CHRISTMAS!!!
