First off I would like to say congratulations to Emily Lane and Cosmin Coibanu for being awarded the student of the month award for November. Keep up the good work!
Wow – what a month it’s been, with all the children in Ishin Ryu grading. I would like to say well done to every on in the Borehamwood Tuesday class. They all performed amazingly, and you all outdid yourselves.
The infant class have been training very hard this past month. The class were not prepared to take their foot off the gas and all the students have worked hard to keep up the pace, with a focus on the warm up and breakfalls. The main technique that has been practised this month was the Major Outer Reap throw; this is an excellent throw to take you opponent to the ground.
The children begun by going through the technique slowly and with each passing lesson they have all become accomplished at performing this technique with pace and control. This has naturally lead on to some restraining techniques such as side control and side four quarters.
As the grading day approached the infants started to become nervous. On the day they all performed amazingly and they all deserve a big Ouss. Well done to you all – I am extremely proud of you all.
The junior class have been training hard every lesson, with several rounds of grappling to keep the pace up and not forget the skills recently learned. Following this, the children have been trying to master some basic throws from the adult syllabus.
The junior gradings went just as well as the infants, with excellent demonstrations of spirit. The lower grades showed fantastic effort and all fully deserve their new belts.
I would like to say good luck to all the children who are going to undertake their gradings next month – I’m sure you will all be great.
