Packed adult class with some new faces

Packed adult class with some new faces

I would like to start this month off by saying how well everyone has been doing this month has been packed full of amazing training from the adults.

With everyone getting stuck in with syllabus training, we have had all the high grades picking a belt and working with a lower grade so that the high grades get to practice with the low grade that belt for the night. This has been working so well the high grades have learned a lot not just remembering the moves but also how to teach someone who hasn’t done that move before and it will improve not only the student but also is helping me with how to teach the class.

With syllabus going so well I have thrown some lovely fitness tests into the lessons to keep everyone on their toes so no one falls asleep.

This month we have seen some new faces in the dojo I would like to welcome first of all Ian Papworth he used to do Ishin Ryu 15 years ago and has come back, and I have to say it is amazing to see him back.

Also this month the senior grades had ATW (Advanced Training Wing) at the end of the month with Soke going over some new events coming up next year and to the end of this year, we kicked started the ATW in true Ishin Ryu style cup of tea and a chat.

But after the tea and a catch-up, we all got into the Dojo where Soke started off with a kit inspection and going over the basics that the senior grades and black belts should be doing and policing. The ATW was a good learning day with everyone going up and down the belts from white belt up to brown belt. To finish off the lesson we did some mat fitness and conditioning work, some stand up grappling with bag gloves on as well to get us use to hitting each other to finish.

This has been an outstanding month for the Ishin Ryu Adult class and I am looking forward to next month and seeing what happens as you never know what is going to happen week to week. So keep looking on the website and the Ishin Ryu Facebook pages. If you don’t have my Facebook, twitter, linked in make sure you add me and see what is going on in Ishin Ryu and find your closest club to train.

Next month we have a very special birthday it will be Soke Kevin Pell birthday on the 6th October and will be his 50th year of training in martial arts. Please also remember that if you can’t make training to call Soke and make sure he knows if you are away and he will make myself and sensei Del aware.

If you are interested and curious to what Ishin Ryu Jiu Jitsu is all about, please do hesitate to visit our website below, alternatively you can ring our headquarters on 01953 483795 where you can speak directly to our chief instructor Kevin Pell Sensei.

Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.

osu Sensei Tom, nice report as always. I would love to be able to come down and train at the club that I first started at back in the early 90’s. Sadly due to all the classes that I now run in Norfolk it will never happen.

  4. Good report don’t know what face I’m pulling in one of the pictures but Hahhaha

Great month as always Sensei, somehow I find it difficult to believe anyone will fall asleep in one of your sessions.
