Firstly I would just like to say congratulations to our Students of the Month, Baily O’Leary. Well done – you have earned this award.
The Aldenham class have been preparing for the up and coming national championships. We have been practicing throws and chokes. I can’t wait to see everyone compete. We have also been having some fun this month. We managed to get hold of two sumo suits. The class was buzzing. Rolling around jumping on each other and trying to hip throw each other with sumo suits was very amusing to watch. Really well done to Toby Curnow who is the undefeated champion of sumo suits.
The Infants have been practicing their hold downs and their front breakfalls. They are really coming along now. I can’t wait to see them all take their first grading in the summer. As the weather has been getting better, we decided to go outside and do a little bit of fitness. The Junior were running up the hill doing hill sprints and squats and then a basic fitness test. It was great to see all the class racing each other trying to win and be the first to finish. Well done to the whole class. You are all doing really well.
Next month we are going to be concentrating on shoulder arm locks in preparation for the up and coming gradings. Next thing we know they will be here.
I would just like to remind everyone that the national championships will be taking place on 17th May so if you want to enter make sure you hand all the relevant information before the 9th May. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone good luck to everyone taking part.
