It’s great to be back at Aldenham and I think 2015 is going to be our year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic new year. First off all I would like to say a big well done to Reece Simpson who has been awarded the student. Reece is a huge help, he has been training extremely well and he comes down early to the infant class to help. Well done you have worked extremely hard and you deserve to wear that belt.
This month the infants have been learning some new ground holds and basic grappling skills. Everyone is doing really well and they are learning fast. Someone working particularly hard is Michael Hobbs. He has come on leaps and bounds since he started and I am certain he will be an excellent martial artist.
We also used nunchaku this month – this is great for the class, as not only are they fun to use but they are also good for hand eye coordination. This was the first time the infant class has got to use a martial arts weapon and they really enjoyed it. Well done to everyone keep up the good work.
The juniors have also been training hard we have been focusing on double leg takedowns and the full shoulder throw. The class has got to grips with these throws quickly and are starting to uses them in takedown grappling. It is really impressive at how quickly they have learnt. The juniors have also been using the nunchaku. It has been a long time since the juniors have used them, but they quickly got the hang of it. Well done to everyone you all are working really hard. Keep up the good work.
