Sempai Sam Gladdy enjoying himself!

Sempai Sam Gladdy enjoying himself!

I would like to welcome Jake Rider along to the club; Jake is 6ft 6 inches tall and I’m sure if he kneeled beside me, he would still be taller…! Jake’s not the normal size that we get at the club but that doesn’t seem to bother him and loves to train and continues to travel to Honbu on a Wednesday for further training… well done Jake, great effort!

Lee Swain who works with Jake outside has also been showing good progress in the club but cannot always get regular training in due to his work commitments…
Joshua King has also come back training after a little injury, great to have you back Joshua, would be nice to see you progress at the club…

Matthew Buckner has just come back from holiday but has managed to pick up Bronchitis so is not able to make regular training. Hope you get well soon Matthew…!
Nick Rowan has been working hard on his white belt syllabus and feels that he could push himself to achieve Yellow. Nick has been training twice, sometimes three times a week and has already pushed in the right direction by preparing himself early and getting kit and uniform required for his Yellow belt; well done Nick!

During the month we worked on perfecting breakfalls and picking up a weapon drills. Our young adult student Joseph George is really starting to get to grips with it all…
We had the whole class working on revision of white belt, repeatedly going through and mixing it up with throwing techniques. We then changed partners going down the line so we didn’t get used to the same training partners. Its also good for our young adult students to practice with the senior grades of the club and get a feel to how the techniques need to be preformed…

Simon Hoyles and Rikesh Shah have been working on their Yellow belt and getting to grips with their baton work, hopefully they will both be able to advance and get higher up the ranks…
It’s been a great month of training and everyone has advanced that little bit further along the line.
Jake was a little worried about being thrown as there’s a lot of him, but has no problem with this and said it’s quite enjoyable… He will definitely get good at his throws, as he has to squat down quite far, “well, especially me”!

Well done to all the senior grades that have been helping Sempai Tom Garvin with his training at the club, all this will help him on his way to achieving his black belt. Well done Harvey Cousins who has been working just as hard to take his Shodan Ho grading this year! Good luck to the both of you and the journey you have taken to get there.

Great height!

Next month we have the charity dinner in Wales, which I’m sure all those that are going away with have a spectacular time. I hope you are successful with all your bidding, let’s see how long will Sempai Vearnon Johnson be able to sit on his hands before he buys something? All for a very good cause… I look forward to hear all the stories about what went on over the event…!

Next month we will be continuing with our training and look forward to seeing everyone advancing forward.

We have the Children’s Championships coming up on Sunday 17th May 2015 at the Breckland Leisure Centre & Waterworld,
Croxton Road,
Thetford,
Norfolk,
IP24 1JD.
If you can attend to help out on the day, this will be greatly appreciated! Those of you that want to compete, please contact headquarters for further detail…

Senior grades, we have A.T.W on Sunday 22nd March and it will be a 9am start to finish at 1.00pm as we will be heading over to Sensei Trevor Stewards club to help out on his fifteenth Anniversary of the club. We will then be traveling to a local in Elveden for some food. Look forward to see all those that can make, if you can’t, please contact Soke…
